1st Davenham Scout Group is a registered charity and we want every purchase, booking and donation to be fair and straightforward. This policy explains when you can get a refund and how to ask for one. It does not affect your statutory rights.
Donations
Donations are gratefully received and are normally non-refundable, as they are put straight to work supporting local young people. If you have donated in error (for example a duplicate or an incorrect amount), please contact us within 14 days and we will put it right.
Event tickets and bookings
Tickets and event places can be refunded if you let us know at least 14 days before the event, unless the event listing states otherwise. Closer to the event we may not be able to refund, as costs will already have been committed, but tickets can usually be transferred to another family — just get in touch. If we cancel or reschedule an event, you will be offered a full refund or a transfer.
Shop items and merchandise
For physical goods bought online you have the right to cancel within 14 days of receiving your order, for any reason. Items should be returned unused and in their original condition within 14 days of telling us you wish to cancel. Once we receive them we will refund the price of the goods. Return postage is at your own cost unless the item was faulty or incorrect.
Faulty, damaged or incorrect items
If something arrives faulty, damaged or not as described, please contact us within 30 days and we will arrange a replacement or a full refund, including any postage you paid. We may ask for a photo to help us sort it quickly.
Gift Aid
Where Gift Aid has been claimed on a donation that is later refunded, we are required to reverse the Gift Aid claim on that donation.
How to request a refund
Please get in touch with your order or booking number and a short note of what you would like. We aim to respond within a few days. Approved refunds are made to the original payment method, usually within 14 days.
